Accommodations

The beautiful campus of Whispering Pines is owned and operated by the University of Rhode Island in West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Formerly owned by W. Alton Jones, a past president of CITGO, it was used as a private hunting and fishing retreat, where Mr. Jones hosted meetings at the site with such dignitaries as President Eisenhower and the King of Nepal.

Today, the Whispering Pines Conference Center, located on 2300 acres in the center of a pine forest, creates a distraction-free  environment conducive to tranquil relaxation. Unlike a hotel property, Whispering Pines is set up to serve small groups in a private setting.  We'll be enjoying the autumn weather and turning leaves will just be starting. There are many trails to discover, along with tranquil waters and beautiful lodges.

All rooms are located in two buildings on campus. Each room has 2 beds - a double and a twin - and a full bathroom.
All art classes are held in a beautiful conference room in Laurel Lodge.
There are also many breakout areas, including living rooms with fireplaces, screened porches and decks.

Included with your retreat fee are your room fee (private or shared), all meals, instructor fees and all art supplies. (There will also be quite a few fun goodies each day...we love to pamper you).

All meals are served in a central dining building with a lovely porch overlooking a lake.
The conference center's outstanding cuisine includes breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, cocktail reception and dinner. Vegetarian, gluten-free and vegan choices at each meal are available, with special meal preparation upon request.
